Are you able to tell the difference between what you want and what your ego wants? Sometimes we can become flattered by what another may say but it is important to not let flattering feed the ego. You can tell when flattering is feeding the ego; you say and do things to make yourself look even better. You compare yourself to others and think that you are the end all be all. If flattering goes to your head then it is definitely ego driven.

There is nothing wrong with being flattered and flattering can make you feel good about yourself but don’t let it make you forget who you really are or have you do things you wouldn’t normally do.

Take in a compliment and really feel it from ‘within.’ That is the place that knows the difference between the inner and outer self.
