You don’t have to be victim to your habits. You have the choice whether you want to continue one of your old habits or not. You can always choose new behavioral habits. It’s takes time and patience to change an old way of doing things to a new way.
Be patient and loving with yourself as you work toward a new way in life. Give yourself a pat on the back for all the small and big accomplishments you make along the way. If you slip back into your old way don’t beat yourself up over it. Each moment is another moment to try. Just become conscious of the old way and create a new way. You’re not stuck in the past and the old way. You get to choose where you take your life.
