It’s important to let your hurt have its time. If you don’t, it can be buried within you and still be there right under the surface. If you say, “I’m just going to forgive” and it is too soon, then it doesn’t come from the heart but only from your mind. Forgiveness isn’t true forgiveness when it comes from a logical place. It is true and lifting when it comes from the heart. But it also is important to realize that giving hurt ‘it’s due,’ doesn’t mean holding on to it and not letting go.
Experience it, learn from it, understand it, and then move on from it. Work through the feelings and thoughts you are having and work toward letting go and feeling healed. It can only happen when you are ready, willing, and able.
