I’m taking Mom and Dad into town today. Dad has a doctor appointment and Mom needs to do some shopping. Mom doesn’t drive any longer and Dad…well…he drives all right but not really sure if you can call it driving.
“Do I really need to fix it?” he asks Mom.
“Yes you do!” Mom shoots back. “You look like a hillbilly.”
“What’s wrong with that?” He gives her a big toothy grin making sure she can see the gap.
She looks at me. “You know he’d go without it if I didn’t force him.”
Yes, Mom. I know too well that he’d go without it.
When I was a little girl, he would pull his dentures out and smile at me to get me giggling.
It still works today.
When we have a problem we tend to stand so close to it that we can’t see the bigger picture. We wallow in the thought of ‘what might be’ and seem to focus on the fact that ‘there’s a problem’. But if we could stop just for a minute and step back and realize that there is a bigger picture, and that there is a solution, then we begin to shift our focus to an answer. Once you are able to step outside the clutches of the problem and envision an answer, you will find an answer. Focus on the solution and not the problem.
I just have to say…my parents are the cutest people. The way they walk, the way they tell stories, the way they interact with each other, and the way they love. Even Dad’s opinion cracks me up. It’s not what he says but the way he delivers it with so much vim and vigor. I’m grateful my parents are under our roof. They provide so much joy in our lives.
How much of your day is spent with being upset and frustrated and how much of your day is spent happy and content? It doesn’t take much to shift into a better feeling place. And the more you shift the more positive your life will be. If you could shift your focus over half your time then you will see movement in your life that will reflect the positive. Think about this as you go about your day and really focus on how much of your day is spent in positive feelings and thoughts. Which do you do more of?
Dad is definitely ‘on the mend.’ He decided he was going to drive yesterday…yes I know…he still has his stitches and his driving foot is the surgery foot. It is the first time I have actually said to Dad, “Dad, this isn’t going to happen right now. When you have ALL your faculties then you can go where you want.” And he said, “I won’t ever have all my faculties, Bethie. Haven’t you caught on to that?!” Hee hee…my dad.

When you have doubts about something this doesn’t mean that it is set in stone or that it is wrong to do. Doubts come from your own thoughts and beliefs. Doubts have nothing to do with what you can accomplish.
If you are experiencing doubt step back and think where the doubt came from. Is it because you don’t want to fail or be wrong in some way? If so then this comes from a life belief within you. You can quickly exchange your doubts for hope. You can realize that it is okay to think something good and that a positive outcome will happen instead of preparing yourself for a letdown. The choice is yours. You can choose doubt or you can choose hope. Hope will get you the desired outcome. You can do it. Leave doubt aside.
Lee and I are out in the studio today. It’s LOA phone consultation day. This is one of the parts of what we do that I love so much. We’re able to talk with each person and get to know them and begin to understand what area of thought change that needs to happen. It’s such an amazing process and there is nothing like it when someone has ‘that moment’ of realization and they break free of old thought patterns. I LOVE MY WORK!
Don’t you just love it when you feel great and love the new reality that you’re creating? And then…someone tells you that you are not facing the facts of the ‘real’ world.
Remember this: What they are really saying to you is that you’re not facing the facts of their own reality. Their reality — what you want — can be created as long as you don’t ‘buy into’ someone else’s definition of reality. Stick with yours and you will create your reality.
Do you know what I am doing right now? Peanut brought in her guinea pig, Watson. He is crawling across the computer and purring. I’m always amazed at how one little animal can give so much to us. We could take a lesson from animals and their unconditional ‘right there’ love. I think I’ll purr back. lol
When you are able to balance and flow with ease, ideas and concepts come easily and the work that is to be done for them comes easily. Connecting and living through your inner self makes it a lot easier to listen and hear the ideas to be implemented in your physical life.
As it becomes easier it becomes joyful, no matter how the idea unfolds. And the time it takes to get it done doesn’t seem to matter because your inner self has no limits. It understands joy and happiness. So if you have an idea and it feels as if it has limits that is just a thought generated from your logical mind and not from the inner self. Limits are imposed only if you believe there are limits. The inner self only knows the unlimited. Connect there for unlimited living.
I went in to see Dad this morning and the swelling has finally gone down in his foot. I asked him how he was doing. He said that he was a little down. I said, “Can I help you, Dad? Is there something I can do? What are you feeling blue about?” He looked up and said, “Now that I only have four toes…I can’t climb trees anymore!” He started laughing and so did I. His sense of humor has come back in full form. It’s good to see him feeling better.
Don’t wait for your life to start. Don’t say, “Maybe tomorrow I can do what I want.” Your life is right now. It doesn’t start when you have enough money or when that perfect career or relationship shows up. Your life is now. Start thinking about living while all those things you desire are coming to you. Start enjoying your life now and the process of getting where you want to go. Start with this moment and find the things that make you happy. Appreciate them. Enjoy what is around you. Start living! Because it’s not ever going to get better than right now . . . until it gets better right now!
Peanut had a wonderful time last night. She has some girlfriends over for a slumber party and I could hear them squealing with laughter this morning. They went outside into the forest and found a fairy ring so their imaginations went wild. They created little houses out of sticks and made sure not to step in the middle of it. One of the little girls was an ‘expert’ on fairies and said, “If you step in the ring you most surely will have immense bad luck.” (Eleven year old going on forty!)
All in all a wonderful time full of memories.
You do know that the only one responsible for your happiness is you? No one else can take that away from you. Focus on happiness. Find it, live it, enjoy it. Find it in everything you do even if it is just a small nugget. As you begin to live the thoughts of happiness, your life will reflect them and soon you will have it… Happiness, that is!
Dad has been feeling a little down lately. After coming home from the hospital he been feeling like he can’t do a thing but we found something that makes him smile and laugh so it has become a part of his ‘therapy.’ We bring Watson the guinea pig into Dad’s room and he hangs out with Dad and Mom for a few hours. Watson’s very docile and does the funniest thing when he sees Dad. He jumps straight up and down (it’s called popcorning) out of joy to see Dad. It’s amazing how a little shining spirit like Watson can help. It must be that unconditional love that a pet pours out to its humans. What a joy…
Our minds tend to focus on the things that we think we should do when taking action to realize our dreams. But one of the keys to intentional creating — and finding the right direction to go — is to still your mind and relax. Finding your stillness through your inner voice can show you the way to direct your path. It doesn’t always have to be the normal way most people go; it can be an out of the ordinary but just as viable direction. Listen to the still voice within. You will get hunches and ideas for which way to go. Don’t push… just let it happen and it will.
Well…we’re going back into town today to pick up some things for Dad and the office. Our oldest daughter is staying with Mom and Dad so Lee and I can have a nice relaxing afternoon together.
It is a beautiful sunny day and spring has sprung!
Mankind’s rules are different from Universal rules. A lot of the things that we see as so important here in the material realm are not that important in the bigger scheme of things. We often get caught up in appearances and by what others think. We allow others to dictate our worth, and we judge our worth by external standards that simply aren’t that important in the long run. When basing our life experience on the rules of the Universe we get a whole different perception of the world we live in, and the worries and fears of others won’t affect us any longer. You live in a physical world full of rules that may or may not apply to you. Figure out which man-made rules are the best for you and release any that no longer serve you. Begin living as a spiritual being who is enjoying a physical experience.
I’m taking Dad into the doctor today. Time for his IV line to get checked and they’re going to assess his foot. It’s healing well but he isn’t quite up to par yet. He said he’s craving a Wendy’s hamburger so we’ll drive thru on the way home. He’s been through a lot the last few weeks. Maybe a burger is the perfect medicine to perk him up.
You have today, and when you wake up tomorrow, your today will soon be a memory. What signal are you sending out? Whatever you think about over and over again is sending out a signal to the Universe asking for more. Be conscious of what you are thinking. What you are thinking today will create your tomorrow. Make a conscious effort to change your repetitive thought patterns if you want your life to change today, tomorrow, and forever.
Lee’s going to be Dad’s nurse today so I can get out with my girls and have a breath of fresh air. Don’t get me wrong…I love caring for my parents but sometimes you have to take some time to yourself to clear your head and create pure joy. Going out to lunch and relaxing with my girls…that should do it!
Do you feel vulnerable? Are you worried about some kind of violence that you may come into contact with in the world today, or are you afraid of what might happen? Remember that if you feel vulnerable and afraid you are aligning with those kinds of experiences. But think about what would happen if you began assuming the best in your life, not anticipating the worst. You would be creating a wonderful vibration that is full of joy and confidence in the Universe. See peace within your house and within your world, and that is what you will have.
I’m looking forward to this week and ‘powering down’ with ease. Lee and I are easing into this week and catching up with what didn’t get done last week because of Dad’s health. Time to get a cup of coffee and begin. YAY!
There is so much to be thankful for…don’t you agree?
When you are able to connect to your eternal self it is like having your best friend with you at all times. By finding that connection you will never feel alone. When you begin to listen to your eternal self you will find an inner knowing of a bigger picture of why you are here. You will see how important you are to this world and how your life is of value.
When we have one of those moments where we feel as if we are alone and disconnected we seem to question everything that we believe and have learned. You wonder if your eternal self is real. You start to doubt how special you are…if this happens…remember. Remember your true voice. Remember that you are not alone. Remember that you really are a spiritual being having a physical experience. No one has left your side. You will come out stronger, wiser, and more understanding of your eternal self.
We have a celebration on our hands today! We have a lot of family and friends coming out to see Dad. I’m going in to take care of all his ‘nursey’ things this morning and then he’ll have the ‘all clear’ to enjoy himself.
Guess I better get going. I can hear Mom cooking up a big breakfast in the kitchen. I better go help.:)
We are all made from the same cloth. It is our unique thoughts that makes us different from one another. It is up to you to make the choice. Which way does your journey go and do you emit positive or negative vibrations along the way? Either way you learn through contrast and any way you take is a direction. Why not go in a positive direction?
What a pleasure it is to walk into the kitchen and see Dad’s face shining back. He is limping around with his walker…but he is home. Peanut is catching him up on all he missed around here and Mom is baking his favorite pie (pecan). He’s feeling pretty lucky and I’m feeling pretty lucky to have him here. Today we’re celebrating Dad’s life!
